Poas Volcano Crater

Poas Volcano crater

Here’s a shot I took in Costa Rica while looking down into the crater of Poas volcano. Believe it or not this crater is almost in the middle of a forest. The volcano is still somewhat active and in 1989 caused the park to close for a period of time. This photo sort of reminds me of a big eye looking back at you… watching… waiting.

was that photo taken in 2008? I was just wondering about the blue color of the water…was it recent when you took that photo?

The photo was taken in 2003. You can see more shots from that trip, including Poas, on Flickr at http://www.flickr.com/photos/shanec/sets/72157594452254915/

Has the water color changed since then?
